The coaxial speakers, developed by Hertz, are optimized for open-plan performance (other brands require a closed box), delivering solid bass and excellent output. The tweeter—for midrange and high frequencies—has an acoustic lens that projects the sound wide rather than narrowly, resulting in the best sound on an open boat, for example, where sitting directly in the center of the speaker is not necessary. The speaker's construction ensures maximum SPL (Sound Pressure Level). The UV-resistant polypropylene woofer is surrounded by a Santoprene rubber surround, and the connection from the woofer to the voice coil is made of strong, flexible aramid fibers. The powerful neodymium magnet optimally moves the voice coil, allowing the woofer to achieve the correct amount of travel for bass frequencies. The speaker housing and grille are made of UV-resistant polymer and are resistant to water, dust, and dirt. Silicone insulated wiring and gold-plated contacts ensure durability and consistent performance over time.
