A large full-dot matrix display (31×55 mm) ensures readability under all lighting conditions. The intuitive E2O icon & menu system and noise-cancelling microphone make channel selection and communication straightforward. 

The unit offers complete VHF communication features: 25 W output power, international marine channel coverage, NOAA weather alerts (where supported), preset favourite channels, scanning, dual-watch / priority-scan, and programmable soft keys. 

For navigation, safety and regulatory compliance, the GX1400GPS/E supports NMEA-0183 input/output for integration with chart plotters or multifunction displays.
