The Selden Secondary Sealing of a Keel-Stepped Mast – Mast Waterproofing Kit provides all essential materials for sealing internal leaks in keel-stepped masts at the deck penetration point — especially on yachts with in-mast furling systems where halyard and sail compartments can admit water over time.

Keel-stepped aluminium masts from Selden are sealed at deck level in production, but minor seepage can still occur and may increase with use. This kit helps reinforce the factory seal and prevent water ingress into the mast and cabin areas.

The kit includes a hardener, sealant compound (ME 52 T Tix), plastic plugs, disposable gloves and detailed instructions for internal sealing. It also requires careful preparation — cleaning and drying the mast interior before applying the compound to achieve a reliable waterproof seal.
