The Selden Rodkicker Type 30S – Min Length 2200 mm – 5000 N Gas Spring is a heavy-duty rigid boom vang built for demanding sail handling on larger sailboats and yachts. Equipped with a 5000 N gas spring, this Rodkicker delivers strong upward force on the boom when the kicking strap is eased, helping to open the mainsail leech and support precise trim — especially useful in heavier wind loads and challenging downwind sailing conditions.

This high-force rigid vang helps stabilise the boom during reefing and manoeuvres, preventing it from dropping into the cockpit or onto the coachroof. By effectively increasing the mechanical advantage of your kicking strap (kicking strap not included), it makes trimming and tension control easier and more predictable.
