The Selden Rodkicker Type 10S (1360 mm) with integrated 2500 N gas spring is a robust fixed boom vang designed to maximise sail handling performance, safety and control on larger or more heavily canvassed yachts. When the kicking strap is eased, the powerful gas spring lifts the boom, opening the leech of the mainsail to help maintain optimum sail shape — especially beneficial in stronger winds, heavy loads and demanding offshore conditions.

This high-force Rodkicker also provides firm boom support and prevents the boom from dropping into the cockpit or onto the deck during manoeuvres. By effectively doubling the purchase of your kicking strap (strap not included), it improves mechanical advantage and makes trimming and tension control more efficient and responsive.
