The 1800 series Hydrographic charts are intended for professional and recreational navigation. 

Each atlas contains a legend with all abbreviations and symbols used on this chart. The charts have a different colour scheme and symbolisation than the nautical charts with regard to lights, light sectors, buoyage, beaconing, etc. but in essence hardly differ from international standards.

A lot of additional information for specific target groups and recreational sailors is also shown.
