Actisense QNB-1 PMW NMEA 2000 Quick Network Block
Details
The Actisense QNB-1 Quick Network Block is an NMEA 2000 network connection block designed to simplify backbone installations with multiple devices. Instead of using several individual T-connectors, the QNB-1 provides a central connection point with six drop connections, network power distribution and built-in diagnostic indicators.
It is particularly useful in areas with a high concentration of instruments, such as navigation stations, electrical panels and technical compartments.
Six NMEA 2000 drop connections
A single QNB-1 provides connections for up to six NMEA 2000 drops. This reduces the number of separate T-connectors required and helps create a cleaner and more organised NMEA 2000 installation.
The QNB-1 is suitable for both Mini and Micro NMEA 2000 networks.
Split and fused network power
The QNB-1 can be used as the power insertion point for the NMEA 2000 backbone.
Power is divided between the left and right sides of the network, with separate fuse protection for each section. If a fuse fails on one side, the other side can remain powered, providing additional redundancy within the network.
The split power arrangement can also help reduce voltage drop in longer backbone installations.
Integrated diagnostic LEDs
Built-in LEDs provide a quick visual indication of network status.
The indicators show:
Power status
Correct or reversed power polarity
Fuse condition
Presence of NMEA 2000 data
These indicators make basic troubleshooting easier for installers and technicians without requiring immediate connection of additional diagnostic equipment.
NMEA 2000 and Raymarine SeaTalkNG integration
The standard QNB-1 uses cable glands and screw-terminal connections, allowing custom lengths of bulk cable to be installed.
Because the cable is connected directly to the internal terminals, compatible Raymarine SeaTalkNG backbone cable can also be wired to one side. This makes it possible to combine standard NMEA 2000 and SeaTalkNG equipment without requiring separate adaptor cables.
QNB-1 and QNB-1-PMW versions
The Quick Network Block is available in two configurations:
QNB-1 – cable glands and screw-terminal connections for custom cable installations
QNB-1-PMW – six standard female M12 A-coded NMEA 2000 connectors for plug-and-play drop connections
Both versions provide the same basic network and power-management functionality.
Robust marine installation
The QNB-1 uses a polycarbonate enclosure with a clear lid and EPDM gasket. The housing provides IP66 protection, making the unit suitable for protected marine electrical and electronics installations.
No software or configuration is required.
