Actisense A2K-TER-U NMEA 2000 Smart Universal Micro Terminator

The Actisense A2K-TER-U Smart Universal Micro Terminator combines correct NMEA 2000 backbone termination with intelligent network voltage monitoring. Unlike a conventional terminator, the A2K-TER-U continuously checks the NMEA 2000 bus voltage and provides immediate visual feedback through integrated LEDs.

Its universal design allows it to be used as a male terminator, female terminator or inline terminator, making it a versatile solution for both new and existing NMEA 2000 installations.

Smart NMEA 2000 diagnostics

The A2K-TER-U contains a high-accuracy voltage monitoring circuit that continuously monitors the NMEA 2000 bus.

The integrated LEDs provide an immediate indication of network power:

• Green LED – network voltage is at or above approximately 9.05V

• Red LED – network voltage is below approximately 9.05V

• No LED – may indicate no power or incorrect polarity

This makes it easier to identify potential power problems without immediately connecting additional diagnostic equipment.

Universal termination

The A2K-TER-U can be configured as:

• Male NMEA 2000 terminator

• Female NMEA 2000 terminator

• Inline/feed-through terminator

Blanking caps are supplied to configure the required connection.

The inline configuration is particularly useful where the end of the network is difficult to access, such as installations at the top of a mast.

120Ω network termination

The integrated 120Ω ±1% resistor provides the correct termination required at the end of an NMEA 2000 backbone.

Because the terminator itself is illuminated when the network is powered correctly, it is also easier to visually confirm that the terminator is installed.

Designed for marine installations

The A2K-TER-U uses durable materials suitable for demanding onboard environments, including gold-plated contacts, nickel-plated brass screw caps and a robust PVC housing.

When correctly connected, the unit provides IP67 protection.
