Thanks to the clear layout, the recreational skipper can quickly find approaches, harbours and anchorages and is made aware of navigationally important details that also appear in the NV Charts app. The chart series impresses with its optimal dimensions and balanced sheet sections.
Regions overview
In the north, the Atlas begins with the capital Amsterdam, which is well worth a detour. The small canals and canals are a very charming water sports area. The famous harbour city of Rotterdam is also worth exploring. As the largest harbour in Europe, it is a hive of activity and you will also encounter large ships and container ships on the canals on the way there. In the Meuse Delta south of Rotterdam, things are quieter. The branching rivers and tributaries are partly shallow and the strong tides should also be carefully observed. The area has numerous small nature reserves. This makes for a comparatively quieter atmosphere, but should also be taken into account when planning your trip, as travelling in these areas is only permitted to a limited extent or even prohibited altogether.
If you are travelling on to the popular IJsselmeer, we recommend the NL3 to the north. If you want to continue in the other direction, we recommend the NL5 to the southern part of the Netherlands and Belgium. For the southern inland area of the Netherlands, NL7 is the perfect travelling companion.
