Regions overview

The Albanian coast offers great potential for explorers and has a wide variety of coastal locations. On your journey along the small, south-eastern European country, you should definitely plan a stopover in the picturesque seaside resort of Ksamil, a little further south you will find the ancient ruins of the famous town of Butrint, which, together with the surrounding 9500-hectare national park, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The nautical chart set then takes you to the Ionian Islands, which lie in the western part of Greece in the Ionian Sea. These include the well-known islands of Corfu, Lefkas, Kefalonia, Zakynthos and a number of smaller islands such as Paxos, Skorpios and Kalamos. The Peloponnese region forms the southern border of the map set. The peninsula in the southern part of the Greek mainland is internationally recognised for its beautiful coastline and the hospitality of its people. The most famous cities in the region are Patras in the north, Corinth in the east, Sparta in the south and Olympia in the west.
